This event is in conjunction with Atlanta Celebrates Photography 

With their various approaches, the work by these 3 Southern women photographers leaves us with impressions of strength, courage and endurance...

These photographs draw you inward, into a complex world of symbolism, meditation, intimacy and emotion. Each has been inspired by a greater voice for their images which speaks of their individual creative spirit. 

They focus their lenses on complex stories with imagination and skill that push the boundaries of their processes while depicting compelling stories. Adams, Bunnen and Lampert share images that allow the viewer to see them as individuals using the photographic medium as a tool to tell their stories of beauty and strength.

Corinne Adams is an Atlanta-based artist who works in fine art photography and mixed media. She is the Co Founder of Atlanta Celebrates Photography. Her work has been exhibited nationally. 

Lucinda Bunnen is a practicing artist in Atlanta. She has traveled worldwide to find subject matter for her work and has had numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the Southeastern United States.

Judy Lampert has participated in numerous exhibitions and her photographs have been collected throughout the South. Her subtle and personal approach to photography conveys a deep respect and honor for the individuals and places that she portrays.

Monica Ellis 'An Untitled Film About Flying'
This dark and moody, but surreal and colorful narrative explores what it means to be in love using a mix of armature and clay-based puppetry in a found object and crafted interior setting.

Brian Danin 'Kinder Surprise'
Stop motion animation of Kinder Surprise (German Chocolates). A true international favorite. But, they are illegal in the U.S. because they are considered a choking hazard. A film/animation by Brian Z. Danin. Co-Directed by Even Perez, and music by Mikhail Ally.

Chelsea Raflo 'You Will Eventually'
Chelsea explores temporal memory, space and movement in this experimental piece.

Aaron Keuter and Ashley Anderson 'XxxCuzx Me'
“XxzCuzx Me” is a meditation on chaos, evolution, and machinism, set to a delightfully frenetic song by the group, Crystal Castles. Symmetrical in its form, it invites the viewer to consider the organized whole of the robotic organism that stems from the maddeningly uncertain and intricate detail of its singular parts.

WonderRoot is an Atlanta on profit arts organization committed to uniting artists and community to inspire positive social change. WonderRoot has partnered with the Plaza Theatre and the High Museum of Art to present their Generally Local, Mostly Independent Film Series. In doing so, WonderRoot has provided a space for filmmakers to screen their work and help cultivate a thriving independent filmmaking scene in Atlanta.

The Next Exhibition

The Spruill Gallery welcomes Spring with a celebration of architecture and phase 1 of the Spruill Garden Project.

In a challenging economy architectural visions are not always realized and many innovative and creative projects never come to fruition. SITE UNSEEN recognizes our talented architectural community and presents work that shoulda, coulda, woulda.

Co-curated by Hope Cohn and artist Lisa Tuttle, the garden features a selection of outdoor sculpture by local artists and a vegetable garden created by volunteers and Master Gardener Shawn Bard. All food harvested from the garden will be donated.
